I was thinking the other day about how I got to where I’m currently at from a creative perspective. I was going through my YouTube subscriptions to try and see where the seeds of inspiration came from for my current creative outlets. What I came realize is that, with the exception of my musicianship and bushcraft camping interests, my photography, leathercraft, etc. all kicked off from an initial inspiration…….Casey Neistat.
I began watching Casey years and years ago and quickly realized that the roadmap to my current situation all started with him. It’s hard to remember how I found Casey’s YouTube but if I had to formulate an educated guess, it was from watching a lot of 9/11 videos on one of the anniversaries of that tragic event. From watching his videos, I was introduced to Peter McKinnon. From Peter, I was introduced to Little King Goods which spurred on my interest in leathercraft.
From there it was non-stop finds of inspirational creators (more accurately: professionals) that have inspired me to get to the creative version of myself that I am currently occupying.
